THUNDER BAY – CRIME REPORT – The Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) responded to 1,017 calls for service between June 9 and June 15, with 223 classified as Priority 1 incidents, the highest level of urgency.

Priority 1 calls often involve situations where public safety is at immediate risk and typically require rapid response from officers.


📊 Crime & Incident Breakdown

The following is a breakdown of some of the most notable call types reported over the seven-day period:

  • 76 motor vehicle collisions

  • 67 calls involving intimate partner violence or family disputes

  • 34 assault investigations

  • 18 weapons-related calls

  • 11 break-and-enter reports

  • 95 “unwanted person” calls, often relating to trespassing or disturbances

These numbers reflect a busy week for frontline officers, responding to a mix of violent crimes, public safety incidents, and traffic-related calls.


📞 9-1-1 and Communications Centre Activity

During the same timeframe, the TBPS Communications Centre handled a total of 4,555 calls, with 1,885 of those calls received directly via 9-1-1. This highlights the high volume of emergency-related communications managed by dispatchers and call-takers, playing a critical role in mobilizing timely police response across the city.
