One Charged Following Amelia Street West Weapons Call; Emergency Task Unit Responds

THUNDER BAY – CRIME REPORT – One person has been charged following a tense overnight police operation that began late Monday, June 16, after reports of a weapon at a residence on the 200 block of Amelia Street West.

Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response Unit officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 11:40 p.m. after receiving information that individuals inside the home were in possession of a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that multiple suspects had entered a residential unit. The area was contained, and officers began attempting to communicate with the individuals inside, but the suspects did not comply with commands to surrender.

As the situation developed, TBPS’s Emergency Task Unit was deployed to assist in resolving the incident safely.

Incident Ends Peacefully After Overnight Response

The stand-off concluded just after 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, with no injuries reported and no ongoing threat to public safety.

Multiple individuals were located and taken into custody from within the unit. However, all but one were released without charge.

Charges Laid

Teddi-Lyn MADDOCK, 34, of Thunder Bay, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

She appeared in court on Tuesday morning and was released with conditions pending a future court date.


The Thunder Bay Police Service thanked residents in the area for their patience during the extended police presence and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
