UPDATE: Three Teens Charged Following Stabbing at Intercity Shopping Centre

THUNDER BAY – LOCAL CRIME REPORT – NETNEWSLEDGER – Three teens are facing charges following a weekend weapons incident at the Intercity Shopping Centre that left one male injured with stab wounds.

Thunder Bay Police Service’s Primary Response officers were dispatched to the mall shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a group of youth involved in a violent altercation. Callers also reported that one individual had been injured.

Upon arrival, officers contained the scene and located the injured male, who was transported to hospital for treatment. Medical staff confirmed that the victim sustained injuries consistent with a stabbing.

Police quickly located three male suspects in the area, all of whom were arrested and taken into custody.

Charges Laid Against Three Youths

  • A 14-year-old male has been charged with:

    • Aggravated Assault

    • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

    • Breach of Recognizance
      He has been remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.

  • Two 15-year-old males are each facing a charge of:

    • Assault
      Both have been released from custody with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.

Due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the accused individuals cannot be released.


Ongoing Concerns About Youth Violence

This incident adds to growing concerns over youth-involved violence in public spaces within the city. Thunder Bay Police have reiterated the importance of community members reporting suspicious activity immediately to help ensure public safety.
