THUNDER BAY – July 23, 2025 — The Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) responded to 1,107 calls for service between July 14 and July 20, reflecting the continued high demand on emergency services in the community.
Of these, 235 were classified as Priority 1 calls — situations requiring immediate response due to imminent threats to life or public safety.
Breakdown of Key Incident Types
The weekly data highlights the range of policing demands across the city. Among the most concerning categories were incidents involving intimate partner violence, weapons, and assaults:

Police Responding to Complex and High-Risk Situations
The frequency of weapons-related calls — averaging more than four per day — remains a serious concern, as does the steady volume of domestic disputes, which continue to represent a significant portion of Priority 1 calls.
