Fire on King Street Damages Multiple Properties in Sioux Lookout – No Injuries Reported

SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON – May 5, 2025 – A structure fire on King Street in Sioux Lookout has left several properties damaged, but thanks to a swift response by emergency crews, no injuries have been reported.

Just after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, members of the Sioux Lookout OPP, Sioux Lookout Fire Services, and Northwest EMS responded to an active fire in a woodshed located between Second and Third Avenue. The blaze quickly spread to nearby homes and outbuildings, prompting a rapid evacuation of surrounding residences.

Evacuations and Emergency Response

All nearby residents were safely evacuated as fire crews worked to contain the flames. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to assist with the investigation. Sioux Lookout OPP officers remain on the scene to support fire investigators and maintain public safety.
