THUNDER BAY – Just after midnight the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Service responded to a fully involved structural fire at 783 Grand Point Road on the Fort William First Nations.

The first arriving pumper encountered a single-family house on fire so a 2nd alarm was initiated which contributed to the 5 pumper response along with an aerial ladder. Water was quickly applied to the exposures to prevent the spread of fire to the surrounding buildings.

The home was ultimately destroyed by the fire which is under investigation at this time.

All occupants were evacuated before arriving on the scene and no injuries were reported.
