THUNDER BAY WEATHER – Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
  • Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake
  • Sandy Lake – Weagamow Lake – Deer Lake

A period of freezing rain likely today.

A sharp Arctic cold front is crossing the region early this morning, bringing brisk northeast winds and perhaps a brief shower.

As temperatures drop to near or below the zero degree mark, freezing rain will develop this morning or early this afternoon. The freezing rain will last for several hours before changing to snow this afternoon or early this evening. Most areas will receive 5 to 10 centimetres of snow before the snow ends tonight.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
