Boreal Journeys Sled Dogs Featured at Winter FunDays

THUNDER BAY – UPDATE – This Sunday’s scheduled Winter FunDay activity, dogsledding, at the Spirit Garden in Marina Park will be rescheduled due to the cold weather forecasted. The activity will take place at SnowDay on the Waterfront on Monday, Feb. 18.

You can still visit the Baggage Building Arts Centre between 1 pm – 3 pm for indoor arts and craft activities with the Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP). The following craft activity will be offered: “Water” – An exploration of how humans and animals use water as a transportation resource.


Earlier – Boreal Journeys Sled Dog Kennel returns to Winter FunDays for another afternoon of fun on Sunday, Jan. 27! Join them for a scenic dogsled ride along the shores of Lake Superior. While waiting, families will be able to meet the sled dogs and learn about the history of dogsledding.

This very popular event was full early at last year’s Winter FunDays. Make plans to be there early! This is an extended activity running from 12 pm to 4 pm. Rides will be offered at the Spirit Garden. Rides are for children only (aged 14 and under).

Winter FunDays run every Sunday until March 17 with a different free winter activity every week.
