THUNDER BAY – PHOTO TECH – Canon has announced three camera accessories aimed at two very different workflows: the compact DM-E10D digital microphone for video creators, and the TC-N3 and TC-E3 timer remotes for long exposures, time-lapse sequences and unattended photography. The products were unveiled on November 4, 2026, with regional releases beginning in December.

The DM-E10D is a 59-gram monaural microphone that connects through Canon’s Multi-function Shoe. That connection carries both digital audio and power, eliminating an audio cable and separate battery. Its supercardioid pickup pattern and 60Hz–20kHz frequency response are intended for speech-led work including vlogging, livestreaming and interviews.

A dedicated MENU button opens compatible cameras’ sound settings, including recording level, wind filtering and attenuation. Canon also includes a furry windscreen and has incorporated a new shock mount to reduce handling vibration. Compatible models include recent EOS R, PowerShot V and Cinema EOS cameras equipped with the supported Multi-function Shoe, although buyers should confirm compatibility for their specific body.

The TC-N3 and TC-E3 replace the basic scheduling limitations of Canon’s established TC-80N3 design. Both provide self-timer, interval and long-exposure functions, plus a new specified-time mode that can start and end a sequence at programmed times. The maximum programmed sequence rises from 99 to 9,999 exposures, while unlimited shooting remains available.

The remotes also gain a larger orange-backlit display, redesigned controls, an 80cm cable, a locking two-stage shutter button and a quarter-inch mounting socket. Both run on two AAA batteries. The TC-N3 serves cameras with Canon’s N3 terminal, including models such as the EOS R1, R3 and R5 series; the TC-E3 supports E3-terminal bodies including the R6, R8, R7 and R10 families.

Canon Hong Kong lists the DM-E10D at HK$1,480, the TC-N3 at HK$1,480 and the TC-E3 at HK$1,280. Its projected availability is December 2026 for the microphone and January 2027 for the remotes. Canon Australia lists the microphone at A$349 RRP, while Canon Japan describes pricing as open and expects late-December and late-January releases respectively. North American pricing has not been confirmed in Canon’s announcement.

For solo presenters, the DM-E10D’s chief attraction is a compact setup with nothing extra to charge or connect. The timer remotes are more specialized, but their clock-based scheduling should be useful to landscape and astronomy photographers preparing unattended sunrise, eclipse, star-trail or overnight sequences.
