Thunder Bay Police Investigate Fatal Collision Involving Train and Pedestrian
THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay police are investigating a sudden death after a pedestrian was struck in a collision involving a train near the city’s waterfront.
The incident happened on the afternoon of May 8, 2026, near the intersection of South Water Street and Pearl Street.
Police Identify Deceased as Thunder Bay Man
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Unit responded to the scene and located a deceased individual.
Police say the deceased is a 34-year-old man from Thunder Bay. His name has not been released.

The Thunder Bay Police Service Forensic Identification Unit and Traffic Unit are involved in the investigation.
