Flight Schedules may shift throughout the day

TORONTO – LIVING – Travellers at Toronto Pearson are being advised to check flight status directly with their airline before coming to the airport, as winter weather is impacting operations and schedules may change throughout the day.

Airport officials say air traffic management initiatives are in place to support the safe movement of aircraft while weather conditions continue to affect arrivals and departures.

Snow-clearing crews working continuous rotations

To keep airfield surfaces operational, snow-clearing crews are actively working on runways, taxiways, and apron areas. Teams are operating continuous snowplow rotations to maintain roughly five million square metres of airport surfaces.

De-icing required before departure

Departing aircraft will be routed through the Central Deicing Facility prior to takeoff, a step that can add time to departure processes during active winter conditions.

The airport says it will continue providing operational updates throughout the day as conditions evolve.
