The smoke will hang around today before departing hopefully by Thursday. Health officials urge residents to take extra care, particularly those most vulnerable to smoke exposure.

Communities across Fort Frances, including Couchiching, Mitaanjigamiing, Naicatchewenin, and Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nations, are waking up under a thick blanket of wildfire smoke this morning.

A high-level Air Quality Warning is in effect as extremely poor conditions are forecast to linger through Thursday.
