Three Firearms and $190k in Illegal Drugs Seized

DRYDEN – NEWS – A trio from Thunder Bay have been arrested in Dryden on May 17th, 2022. The three face drug trafficking charges and one of the accused faces firearm charges after the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) with assistance from Treaty 3 Police Service (T3PS) and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) executed a search warrant at a Pitt Avenue residence in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the warrant several items were seized including, three firearms, brass knuckles, cell phones, digital scales, packaging materials and a large quantity of Canadian currency. Also seized was a large quantity of Crystal Meth, Cocaine and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of approximately $190,000.

Chris BEEPATH, a 43-year0old from Thunder Bay, ON has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  •  Possession of Schedule I substance for purpose of Trafficking – CDSA 5(2) X3
  •  Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – CC 354(1)(a)

John HARRISON, a 39-year-old from Thunder Bay, ON has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for purpose of Trafficking -CDSA 5(2) X3
  • Possession of Schedule I substance – CDSA 4(1)
  • Possession of a prohibited device – CC 92(2)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – CC 354(1)(a)
  • Careless storage of a Firearm – CC 86(1)

Mackenzie OGIMA, a 21-year-old from Thunder Bay, ON has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for purpose of Trafficking – CDSA 5(2) X3
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – CC 354(1)(a)

The three accused have been held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
