Thunder Bay Police Respond to Over 1,100 Calls in One Week, Including Dozens of Assaults and Collisions

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Service responded to 1,121 calls for service between June 23 and June 29, reflecting a busy week for frontline officers managing a wide range of public safety concerns.

Of these, 217 were Priority 1 calls, involving situations where immediate police presence was deemed necessary due to potential risks to life, safety, or property.

Here’s a closer look at the nature of the incidents handled during the week:

  • 68 calls were related to intimate partner violence or family disputes

  • 53 calls involved motor vehicle collisions

  • 34 reports of assault

  • 20 calls related to weapons incidents

  • 8 robbery cases

  • 7 stolen vehicle reports

  • 98 unwanted person calls

This report provides a snapshot of the ongoing challenges local police face in ensuring community safety. The high number of calls connected to violence and vehicle-related incidents continues to be a concern for both law enforcement and community partners.
