Accused Was a Child Welfare Worker Assigned to Victim’s Family
THUNDER BAY – May 28, 2025 – A Thunder Bay man has been charged following a year-long investigation into historic child sexual abuse allegations involving a former child welfare agency worker.
The investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service began in 2024, after a report was filed alleging abuse that occurred approximately 20 years ago. The accused was reportedly employed by a child welfare agency and had been assigned to the victim’s family at the time of the alleged offences.
Arrest and Charges
The investigation led to the arrest of Ronald Nicholas SLUSAR, 56, who appeared in court on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He is charged with:

Police say the investigation remains active and ongoing, with further inquiries being made to determine whether additional victims may exist.
