Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Growing up in Thunder Bay, Megan was surrounded by the natural beauty and tight-knit community that would later influence her music. She began writing songs at age seven, finding solace and expression in her music.
Her early compositions are a reflection of her inner thoughts and emotions, capturing the essence of her journey and experiences. Her inspiration and determination come via her grandmother, and her family.
Her education took her to teaching and to assisting youth, and to her activism.
From CBC Searchlight to Music City
Nadin’s musical breakthrough began in 2018 with the release of her debut single “Gypsy Sea”, which secured a spot in CBC Searchlight’s Top 100 and Top 50 Listener’s Choice. Her performance of original music caught the eye of a Nashville-based Artist Development Program, prompting her to take a bold step—moving to Music City.
In 2020, she inked a songwriting deal with Keith Thomas, a seven-time Grammy Award-winning producer, and soon released her debut EP “This Was Then”, blending reflective storytelling with polished pop-folk production.
A Quiet Pause, Then a Bold Return
After stepping back from the spotlight to complete a Songwriting and Composition Program at the Dark Horse Music Institute, Nadin resurfaced in summer 2024 with two new singles: “MAKE IT OUT ALIVE” and “HIGH.” These emotionally charged tracks earned her appearances on major U.S. platforms, including ABC’s Local On 2 and NBC’s Today In Nashville.
“In Another Life”: The First of Many
Now, with a collection of new songs ready to go, Nadin is kicking off 2025 with “In Another Life,” a metaphor-rich ballad exploring the bittersweet reality of finding the right love at the wrong time. With poetic lyrics and a soul-stirring delivery, the single marks the beginning of an exciting year for the artist.
Music with a Mission
Beyond the melodies, Nadin has a vision: to combine her musical journey with advocacy and activism. Inspired early on by children she met in Cambodia, she aims to build a platform for change—amplifying voices and causes that often go unheard.
Megan is also an ardent activist. She uses her platform to advocate for social justice, environmental sustainability, and mental health awareness. Her commitment to these causes is evident in both her public statements and her actions, as she often participates in charity events, fundraisers, and campaigns aimed at making a positive impact.
