Quick Response to Fire

Thunder Bay – NEWS – Just after midnight, Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue (TBFR) quickly responded to a house fire on the 300 block of Merrill Ave. The fire started on the main floor of the house.

Firefighting Efforts

When the firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames both inside and outside the house. They worked efficiently, using water from outside to control the fire. This fast action prevented the fire from spreading to the attic and nearby homes.

Ensuring Safety

After the fire was under control, the fire crews entered the house to search for anyone inside. Thankfully, the house was empty, and no one was injured.

Investigation Ongoing

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but it is considered suspicious. TBFR used six pumper trucks and one command unit to manage the situation.
