Kakabeka Falls – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

The weather service says that weather conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Severe thunderstorms possible early this morning.

An area of thunderstorms is approaching from Minnesota early this morning.

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake

The main threats will be nickel sized hail, and wind gusts to 90 km/h. Torrential downpours are also possible.

The threat of severe thunderstorms will end later this morning, however there is the potential for the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms again later this afternoon or evening.
