Derek Robert TURNER Faces First Degree Murder Charge

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police Service has arrested a suspect connected to the 2021 homicide of Jordan LAPOINTE.

Derek Robert TURNER, 39, of Thunder Bay, was taken into custody on Saturday, May 14 and charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Possession of Cocaine

Turner appeared in bail court on Sunday, May 15 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

On Sunday May 15, TURNER was then additionally charged with First-Degree Murder. Turner is scheduled to appear in court on that charge today.
