THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There are a few weather advisories in effect for the region. In the North, there is a freezing rain warning for Sachigo Lake, Bearskin Lake, Big Trout Lake, and Kasabonika. To the east of Thunder Bay, there is a fog advisory for Nipigon, Geraldton, and Marathon.

The cold spot in Ontario this morning is -9.5 °C at the airport in Peawanuck.

Thunder Bay Forecast

Sunny skies and a high of +14c is in the forecast for Thunder Bay today. There will be fog patches which will be dissipating this morning. Winds up to 15 km/h are forecast.

For tonight expect a few clouds with an overnight low +3c. Heading into Thursday there will be a mix of sun and cloud with a high of +12c.

Sachigo Lake

A freezing rain warning is in effect for Sachigo Lake. Environment Canada says that periods of freezing rain will start this morning and end late this afternoon. Wind up to 15 km/h are forecast. Today’s high zero. The wind chill minus 10 this morning.

For tonight, cloudy conditions with a risk of freezing drizzle will continue. The winds will pick up becoming northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 overnight. The temperature will be steady near minus 1, with the wind chill making it feel like minus 10 overnight.

Sioux Lookout

Sunny skies are in the forecast for Sioux Lookout. There will be patches of fog, but they will burn off this morning. Winds of up to 15 km/h are forecast with a daytime high of +11. The wind chill minus 4 this morning.

For tonight, skies will start clear, but there will be clouds moving in near midnight. The overnight low -1c. Wind chill minus 5 overnight.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods

On waking up in Kenora this morning it is -3c. The forecast is for a daytime high of +13 under sunny skies. Winds will be up to 15 km/h. Wind chill minus 4 this morning.
