Thunder Bay Man Faces Twenty Charges Following Investigation

THUNDER BAY – A Thunder Bay man faces twenty charges following an investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service.

The Economic Crime Unit of the TBPS has charged a Thunder Bay man with a number of offences following an extensive investigation.

31-year-old Daniel James William MATSON has been charged with the following:

• Obstructing Justice (9 counts) CC 139(2)
• Forgery (4 counts) CC 368
• Personation (2 counts) CC 403(1)
• Making a False Statement (5) CC 367

The investigation by the Economic Crime Unit commenced in June 2017 following information provided by the Law Society of Upper Canada. The criminal charges against Mr. Matson allegedly involve multiple victims while he as practicing law in Thunder Bay between 2013 and 2017.

Daniel James William MATSON was charged by the TBPS on January 22, 2019. He was released on a Promise to Appear for his court date of March 29, 2019.
