OPP Re-Open Highway 527 Following Suspicious Death Investigation

THUNDER BAY – The Ontario Provincial Police have opened Highway 527 following the discovery of a body on Sunday.

Police remain very tight-lipped about the investigation. OPP have disclosed to NetNewsLedger that the body discovered is that of a male. There have been few other details revealed.

On January 13, 2019, the OPP received information that a body was located on the shoulder of Highway 527 just north of the Highway 11-17 junction.

An investigation has been commenced by the OPP North West Region Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services under the direction of Detective Inspector Darryl Sigouin of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
