Accident on Memorial Avenue Sees 86 year old man die of injuries

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police received multiple calls to attend the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Memorial Avenue between two vehicles at approximately 11:50 am on April 4th, 2018.

The initial collision occurred in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue between two vehicles. The driver of a brown car remained on scene and was not injured.

The second vehicle continues northbound on Memorial Avenue and then onto Fourth Street. The driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in a second collision with a building on the Thunder Bay Transit property.

An 86 year old local male was rushed to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit is still investigating the cause of the collisions.
