THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay has its first homicide of 208. Thunder Bay Police report, “Just before 2:30 pm on February 5th, 2018, police attended a motel in the 400 block of Cumberland Street North. A 28-year-old male was taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences where he was declared deceased.

A post-mortem examination is expected to occur in Toronto on Thursday, February 8th.

The name of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next of kin.

Christopher Achneepineskum, a 45-year-old male of Thunder Bay has been charged with Homicide in the 1st Degree. He appeared before video court Wednesday morning and has been remanded in custody with a court date of February 15th, 2018.

A 36-year-old female is also in custody and has been charged with Accessory After Fact to Murder. The name of the female accused will be released after she makes her first court appearance on February 8th, 2018.
