THUNDER BAY – The OPP report that on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at approximately 12:07AM EDT, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch, on Highway 11/ 17, near Wing Road in the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge.
Officers attended the scene and while speaking with the driver, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.
Paula LAPPALAINEN, 54 years of age, from Dawson Road Lots Township was arrested and charged with:
-Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
She is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 24, 2017 to answer to the charge.
