Freezing Rain its possible in Ontario's Far North

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Winter seems determined to hang on. Environment Canada is calling for the possibility of freezing rain or ice pellets for the City of Thunder Bay.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Icy mix of freezing rain and ice pellets developing tonight.

A significant spring storm will move into the region tonight with a wintry mix of ice pellets and freezing rain developing near midnight. There is the potential for the freezing rain and ice pellets to persist through early Thursday morning. This storm may have an impact to transportation in the region particularly if the majority of the precipitation falls as freezing rain.

There is still considerable uncertainty regarding the type of precipitation and amounts on Wednesday.
