THUNDER BAY – ENTERTAINMENT – Norm Foster’s THE LADIES FOURSOME is an outrageously funny comedy about four women, eighteen holes and a few secrets. It’s the day after the funeral of a friend and three women meet for a round of golf in memory of their recently departed playing partner. They are joined by an old friend of the deceased that the other three didn’t know existed. This fun-filled, fast paced, joyful celebration of friendship discusses life, love, men, sex, children and careers… everything but golf!

Artistic Director, Mario Crudo, said of the play, “What better way to wind up the Magnus season than with an hilarious comedy by Norm Foster, one of our audiences’ favourite playwrights. And it is being performed by four exceptionally talented and very funny ladies; the much-loved local comedienne, Jo-Ann Waytowich, known for her impeccable comic timing; Viviana Zarrillo, that audiences adored as the mother in Moose On The Loose; Liz Gilroy who charmed and entertained audiences in Same Time Next Year; and newcomer to Magnus Theatre, Nicole Robert, who recently wowed audiences at the TBCA in the musical comedy, Menopause The Musical. These four ladies are thoroughly enjoying themselves playing together in this very funny play; their enjoyment is sure to add a lot of extra fun to what will already be a highly enjoyable and entertaining evening of comedy. Get your tickets early for this show; we’re expecting it to sell out!”

THE LADIES FOURSOME features an extraordinary cast of four actors that include Thunder Bay local Jo-Ann Waytowich (as Margot), who has previously graced our stage in productions such as THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING, DRIVING MISS DAISY and THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. She is joined by Viviana Zarillo (as Tate) who was last seen earlier this season in THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING, MOOSE ON THE LOOSE and HANA’S SUITCASE; Liz Gilroy (as Dory) who previously starred in SKIN FLICK and THE LONG WEEKEND, and Magnus newcomer Nicole Robert (as Connie), whose 30 year career on stage includes JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH (YPT), SWEENY TODD, (Citadel Theatre), and THE WINTER’S TALE (Canadian Stage).

The cast is joined by returning set designer BRUCE REPEI, whose first design at Magnus Theatre was THE AFFECTIONS OF MAY in 1995. Since then, Bruce has designed many comedies, dramas and musicals at Magnus including this season’s RING OF FIRE and THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING. Lighting Designer TIM RODRIGUES has been part of several shows at Magnus Theatre, including this season’s DREARY AND IZZY and 2014/2015’s ETHAN CLAYMORE and DRIVING MISS DAISY.

With a fantastically funny script and an utterly charming cast, we expect THE LADIES FOURSOME to be a hole in one! Preview performances take place Monday April 4th to Wednesday April 6th, with the Gala Opening on Thursday April 7th. The play runs until Saturday April 16th.
