Lakehead ThunderwolvesTHUNDER BAY – Sports – After enduring numerous weather-related hurdles, the Lakehead Baseball Club will complete its conference season this weekend near the Twin Cities, in Minnetonka.

Other teams in LU’s division (4 from ND and MN) have also endured meteorological hurdles to complete their conference schedules. Some have played zero conference games to this point.
The T-Wolves will play the North Dakota State Bison in a double-header Sunday, April 28, beginning at 8:00am.
Thanks to recent weather, all outdoor baseball fields have been rendered unusable in their current condition across Minnesota and North Dakota. The Thunderwolves and Bison will do battle at Veterans Field, Minnetonka High School’s outdoor artificial turf baseball diamond that has seen unprecedented use of late.
Veterans Field was also ranked as the 2nd best artificial HS turf field in the United States by USA Today.
As Lakehead Coach Jason Hart puts it, “We’re just happy to get on the baseball field. After practicing indoors for so long, the guys are excited to get outdoors.”
This weekend will effectively mark the end of the conference schedule for the Thunderwolves and their District V West opponents, with the NCBA DII Regionals beginning next weekend in Sheboygan, WI.
