FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION –  I am very humbled to have been elected as Chief of FWFN. I would like to acknowledge all the candidates that participated in this years election. It was an incredible turn out by all.

For those who supported me and those who have not I would like you to know that I will work for everyone equally. You are all my family in one way or another.

I love our community and will continue to support the ongoing efforts already in place to make positive change. We have new faces and old on council, which will be a good balance and feel we are in good hands.

I hope that the youth can feel inspired that they too can make a change and contribute to the success and future of FWFN. You are the community’s future leaders.

The elders have guided us and we have much to learn. Let us never take for granted their presence and teachings. For our youth, you will find that the lessons we learn in life come from their guidance.

To our beautiful girls and women, we share a connection of strength, humility and love. Let us continue to build on the fundamental principles of being Nishinaabe Kwewog.

Chi Miigwetch to everyone, my husband and children, family and friends and a special thank you to my Grandmother Elizatbeth Pelletier who raised me to be the woman I am today.
