Thunder Bay Dancers Shine in Wisconsin Dells

Thunder Bay Dancers ShineTHUNDER BAY – Five young dancers recently represented Thunder Bay and Canada proudly in Wisconsin Dells at the Celebration Talent’s National Dance Competition.

Members of Dance Dynamics Studio, Sierra Erickson (7), Isabella Jedruch (8), Sadie Cameron (8), Chynna Erickson (9), and Jade Erickson (11) previously qualified for the finals at competitions in Duluth and Minneapolis.  In conjunction with the competition the girls took part in workshops, auditions and a production number.   The girls were divided into two categories; dancers who train 5 hours a week or less (Rising Stars) and dancers who train more (Shining Stars) and then further divided by age categories. During the workshop the girls were evaluated not only on skill but also commitment, showmanship and sportsmanship.  They then were selected to compete for additional titles above and beyond the routines that had qualified them to be there.   Below is a list of how the girls placed.

Sierra – first place for Petite Rising Star -Jazz Solo

Sadie – first place for Petite Rising Star -Musical Theatre Solo

Sadie – Second Place Overall Petite Rising Star, and the Judges’ Choice Award, (against all Petite Rising Star Soloists)

Chynna – second place Petite Shining Star – Jazz Solo

Isabella – third place Petite Shining Star – Jazz Solo

Chynna – second place Overall Petite Shining Star (against all Petite Shining Star Soloists)

Isabella – third place Overall Petite Shining Star

Jade – second place Junior Shining Star – Tap Solo

Jade – fourth place Overall Junior Shining Star (against all Junior Shining Star Soloists)

Jade – 1st runner up for Junior All Star Performer

Chynna and Jade were also First Place Overall in Junior Shining Star duets with their acro dance, and then (from the top 10 of all duos/trios, groups and lines in the 12 & Under) they received third place in the 12 & Under Shining Star Showdown and also won the Showstopper Award.
