SHUNIAH ON – The Shuniah Police Services Board, at its regular monthly meeting re-elected Don Smith as the Board’s Chair. The Municipally of Shuniah contracts its policing services from the Ontario Provincial Police.
Mr. Smith also serves as Vice President of the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards and represents OPP Section 10 North Contract Boards. Other members of the Shuniah Police Services Board are, Reeve Maria Harding and Provincial Appointee, Bob Zale.
At the meeting the board was advised the Municipality of Shuniah had received $39,725.00 to cover the previous 6 month period of funding from the Safer Communities – 1,000 Officers Partnership Program.
The Shuniah Police Service Board holds regular monthly meetings and public attendance is encouraged.
