Fire Rescue Crews Put Out Vehicle Fire Save Condo Unit

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue report that at approximately 13:15 P.M. on Jan. 14, crews were dispatched to the report of a possible garage fire in the 400 Block of Van Norman St.

The first arriving crew reported heavy smoke in the area and an SUV fully engulfed in flames, quickly spreading to the garage of this 3-storey condominium complex.

The vehicle was quickly extinguished by Thunder Bay Fire, preventing the spread of the fire to the Condo unit.

There was extensive damage to the SUV, but minor damages to the garage and condo unit.

A total of 3 Pumpers and a Command Unit responded, there were no injuries to report.
