The severe cyclone made landfall near Ongole with winds of 100 to 110 km/h; extreme rain and damaging gusts remain threats as it weakens

ONGOLE, India — Nov. 3, 2026 – International Weather – Severe Cyclonic Storm Murasu crossed India’s south Andhra Pradesh coast near Ongole early Tuesday, bringing destructive winds and torrential rain to a region still recovering from another cyclone last week.

Transport and public safety

The Associated Press reported that schools were closed, some train and flight services were halted, and thousands of people were evacuated before landfall. No verified post-landfall casualty or damage total was available in the official material reviewed for this report.
