Two branches of Thunder Bay Public Library will be open for free family fun over the winter holiday

Holiday hours in effect starting Christmas Eve

Thunder Bay, ON – December 22, 2025: In keeping with the Library’s values of high quality service and accessibility, both Waverley Library and Mary JL Black Library will open over the winter holiday.

Both branches will offer free drop-in family programming including the new Discovery Club and Game On! interactive projector, movie screenings and scavenger hunts.

Brodie Library and County Park Library will be closed Thursday, December 25 through Friday, January 2. Regular hours for those branches resume on Friday, January 2.

All locations open 9:30 am to 1 pm

Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26
All locations closed

Saturday, December 27
Mary JL Black Library and Waverley Library open 9:30 am to 5 pm

Sunday, December 28

Mary JL Black Library and Waverley Library open 9:30 am to 5 pm

Thursday, January 1
All locations closed

Friday, January 2
