TBPS investigating pedestrian collision on Cumberland St N; victim in serious condition, road reopened

THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) are investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the city’s north end.

Police say officers responded to Cumberland Street North just before 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, and closed a section of the roadway while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Pedestrian Taken to Hospital

TBPS report the pedestrian was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for assessment and treatment. The pedestrian is reported to be in serious condition.

Road Reopened; Investigation Continues

The roadway was reopened at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025. TBPS say the Traffic Unit investigation remains ongoing.
