Sudbury – WILDFIRE UPDATE – The Northeast Fire Region confirmed one new wildland fire on June 19, 2025, according to Fire Information Officer Shayne McCool of Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.

  • Size: 0.2 hectares

  • Location: Island on Kilpatrick Lake, southeast of Chapleau

  • Status: Extinguished

All existing fires remain under close watch, with three active wildland fires currently in the region: one under control and two being observed, posing no immediate threat.

  • Fires must be extinguished two hours after sunrise

  • Always keep tools and water on-site to control and fully extinguish the fire
