Wintry Start with a Hint of Spring on the Horizon

Sachigo Lake, ON – Sachigo Lake’s Victoria Day weekend is proving that winter doesn’t go quietly in these parts. Expect ice pellets and flurries before the skies brighten for the holiday Monday.

Saturday: Ice Pellets, Flurries, and Stubborn Cold

Periods of ice pellets will transition to a 40 percent chance of flurries through Saturday. Strong north winds at 30 km/h gusting to 50 will keep the mercury stuck near 2°C. The UV index is 2.

Tonight remains cloudy, with temperatures plummeting to -4°C.

Sunday: Clearing Skies Offer Hope

Sunday will see clearing skies and a high of 9°C. Sunday night will be clear but cold again at -4°C. By Monday, Victoria Day will bring sunny skies and a more spring-like high of 14°C, with a low of -1°C overnight.

Sachigo Lake’s normals are 16°C for highs and 3°C for lows, so it will take until Monday to feel like May.

Wardrobe Wisdom

Bundle up in winter layers and sturdy boots for most of the weekend. Monday’s sunshine will let you finally switch to a lighter coat and dust off those sunglasses.
