No injuries reported; fire crews credit early alarm and teamwork for preventing spread
KENORA – Regional News – An early morning fire at a commercial property in Kenora was quickly contained thanks to the swift response from City of Kenora Fire and Emergency Services.
Crews were dispatched around 1:45 a.m. following a fire alarm activation at a commercial occupancy. En route, firefighters received confirmation that a fire was active, prompting additional resources to be deployed immediately.
Upon arrival, fire crews located the area of origin in a garage bay containing a vehicle. Thanks to rapid action and an effective knockdown, the fire was contained to the garage bay, preventing significant damage to other parts of the building. While smoke did spread throughout the structure, the quick response ensured it was contained and ventilated safely.
There were no injuries reported, and the scene was handed back to the occupants at approximately 3:45 a.m..
