Southern Ontario Men Arrested in Thunder Bay Drug Trafficking Investigation

THUNDER BAY – CRIME NEWS: Two men from southern Ontario were arrested following a suspected home takeover linked to drug trafficking in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) officers responded to a residence on James Street North around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, after receiving reports of a possible home takeover.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two males attempting to hide inside the home. Both suspects were taken into custody. A search of the residence led to the seizure of drug trafficking paraphernalia and over $10,000 in cash.

The suspects, Ishmael HERRERA, 22, of East York, and Michael SKYE, 19, of Scarborough, have each been charged with:

  • Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000

Both individuals appeared in court on Friday. SKYE remains in custody, while HERRERA has been released with future court dates.
