Homicide Arrest Update

Winnipeg – NEWS – The Major Crimes Unit continued its investigation into a serious assault that occurred in the 400 block of River Avenue on May 25, 2024.

  • Victim: Richard Lauren Fehr, 56 years old
  • Status: Passed away on June 5, 2024, after remaining in hospital on life support since the assault.

Investigators have arrested Dorion Anthony Terrence Olson, a 25-year-old male, who has been charged with Second Degree Murder. Notifications have been made to the victim’s family.

Incident Overview (Previously Released Information)

On May 25, at approximately 9:10 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 400 block of River Avenue following a report of an adult male who had been seriously assaulted.

  • Response: West District members found the victim, a 56-year-old male, unconscious with severe injuries. Officers provided immediate emergency medical care until an ambulance arrived. The victim was then transported to the hospital in serious condition. The suspects had fled before police arrived.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
