Major Drug Bust by Nishnawbe Aski Police Service

Fort Hope, ON – In a significant operation, police seized a quantity of cocaine and arrested a female suspect following a search of a home in Fort Hope First Nation on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Details of the Operation

Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, Emergency Response Team, and officers from the NAPS Fort Hope detachment executed a search warrant at a residential address in Fort Hope First Nation. The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity at that location.

Seized Items and Arrest

During the search, police discovered and seized:

  • Cocaine
  • Cannabis
  • Paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking

A 35-year-old female suspect from Fort Hope First Nation was taken into custody without incident.

Charges and Court Appearance

The suspect faces the following charges:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Unlawfully Distributing Cannabis

The identity of the accused is being withheld until the charges are formally sworn before the courts. She has been released with a court appearance scheduled for September 2024.
