Winnipeg Police Arrest Suspect in Commercial Robbery

Winnipeg – NEWS – The Winnipeg Police Service has arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a series of incidents, including a hit-and-run collision and an armed commercial robbery.

On March 18th, officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Chief Peguis Trail and Lagimodiere Boulevard. The male driver, who was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, fled the scene without exchanging information.

Shortly after, the same suspect allegedly entered a mall in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street, wielding a hatchet. He is accused of concealing his identity, smashing display cases at a jewellery store, and stealing items. The suspect again fled in a vehicle.

The suspect was located by police at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Broadway. He was arrested, and the stolen jewellery was recovered.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit has charged Nathan Richard DUNSMORE, 24, with:

  • Robbery
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused has been detained in custody.
