RED LAKE – NEWS – It has been a rough couple of weeks for Red Lake.

Between road washouts, flooding, and a forecast with a lot of rain coming after a winter of major snow, getting a handle on spring has been slower than usual up at the end of Highway 105.

There remains flooding in Pikangikum and states of emergency in several northern First Nation communities.

Youtube video by Jayson Botel shows the impact in Red Lake.

On Saturday, in Thunder Bay federal Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu spoke about some of the challenges.
