Ontario Premier Ford Campaign Stop at Heddle Shipyards in Thunder Bay

Thunder Bay – POLITICS – Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Doug Ford was in Thunder Bay on Saturday, May 7th along with candidates Peng You (Thunder Bay-Superior North) and Kevin Holland (Thunder Bay Atikokan).

Premier Ford was at the Heddle Shipyards on the north side of Thunder Bay.

The Premier says that the key contrast in this campaign is between the Progressive Conservatives who want to “Get it Done” and the Liberals and New Democrats Ontario lost 300,000 jobs.

The Premier was in Sault Ste. Marie earlier today talking on the Ring of Fire.

The Premier says that his government has invested $1.2 billion in corrections in Ontario. When asked about why it has taken four years to get shovels in the ground on the new Thunder Bay Correctional facility, Ford said that the problem is red tape.

Asked about how to overcome the unemployment levels in Northern First Nations communities, Ford stated that the “Ring of Fire is critical and the roads into the north will help change the lives of people in the north by allowing greater access to food, healthcare, and needed supplies.
