Thunder Bay – WEATHER – The forecast heading into the weekend is for cooler weather and across the region there will be precipitation. This should help moderate the wildfire situation.

There has been local smoke – mainly coming from fires in Minnesota.

Special air quality statement in effect for:

  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park

High levels of air pollution due to smoke from forest fires.

Smoke plumes from forest fires over southwestern portions of Quetico are resulting in locally poor air quality. Smoke will continue to intermittently impact the area, especially in locations close to the fires.

Thunder Bay Weather

It is 10 headed to a high of 22 in Thunder Bay for Thursday. The forecast is calling for a mix of sun and cloud. The UV index 7 or high.

Tonight will see cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of showers late this evening and overnight. Winds will becoming east 20 km/h gusting to 40 this evening. Low 10.

Fort Frances Weather Outlook

It is a cool 5 in Fort Frances this morning. There will be increasing cloudiness early this morning with a 30 percent chance of showers. Fog patches will be dissipating early this morning. Winds will be becoming east 20 km/h this afternoon. High for the day will be 18. The UV index will be 5 or moderate.

Tonight will see mainly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of showers. Local smoke will impact the area, coming from the fires in Minnesota. Winds will be from the northeast a 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low overnight of 12.

Washaho Cree Nation Weather
