Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 12 new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region.

15 cases have been resolved, and the current number of active cases is now at 139.

2 of the cases are at the Thunder Bay District Jail, and another two at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.

Seven cases are from close contact. One case has no known exposure.

One of the new 12 cases is in a First Nation community and the rest are in Thunder Bay and surrounding communities.

Total Overview COVID-19 Numbers

Canada’s COVID-19 case total is at 786,417.

Canada has seen 20,213 deaths from pandemic: One in the Yukon, one in Nunavut, 1,218 in British Columbia, 1,660 in Alberta, 314 in Saskatchewan, 832 in Manitoba, 6,238 in Ontario, 9,862 in Quebec, 18 in New Brunswick, four in Newfoundland & Labrador and 65 in Nova Scotia.

In Ontario, 67 deaths were reported Wednesday, 29 of those deaths involved residents of a long-term care home.

Ontario’s seven-day average for number of cases reported is now 1,675.

Toronto has 444 new cases of COVID-19. There were 199 cases in Peel Region, York Region has 110 cases.
