Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – There are 73 active cases of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay District. Today, the TBDHU reports five new cases of the virus. Eighteen cases have been resolved since yesterday’s report.

This morning the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports, “The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) has been advised that 6 (six) recent positive tests on TBDHU residents were indeterminate due to an issue at the lab that analyzed the tests. 5 (five) of these cases reside in Thunder Bay and Surrounding Areas and 1 (one) resides in a District Community. All impacted individuals have been notified and further direction has been provided, including retesting.”

There are two new cases related to the Outbreak at Valard Construction’s East-West Tie Line camp.

There is one new case at the Thunder Bay District Jail where an outbreak continues.

Two of the cases are from close contact.

Ontario COVID-19 Numbers

Ontario is reporting 2,655 cases of COVID-19 for January 20, 2021. There have been 89 deaths from the virus in the province in the past 24 hours.

In the hotspots, there are 925 new cases in Toronto, 473 in Peel Region, 226 in York Region, 179 in Windsor-Essex County and 129 in Niagara.
