Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – There are eight new cases of COVID-19 in the district reported by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

This brings the total number of active cases to eighty.

Two of the cases are related to the outbreak at the Thunder Bay District Jail. Two are from Close Contact, and one is from travel outside of the district.

Two remain pending, and one is unknown.

Four of the cases are in Thunder Bay and surrounding communities, and four are in district communities.

Twelve cases have been resolved.

There are three people in hospital and two people in intensive care.

Southbridge Roseview remains in a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak with 2 active staff cases. These staff members are currently isolating and recovering at home. There are for the second day in a row no cases of the virus reported in residents of the Long-Term care facility.

Ontario Figures

For Friday, Ontario reports 2,998 new cases of COVID-19. There have been nearly 76,500 tests completed. The hotspots are 800 new cases in Toronto, 618 in Peel Region, 250 in York Region, 161 in Waterloo ,and 153 in Niagara.
