The total number of current active cases is at 58.

There are no patients in hospital or the ICU as of this report.

Four of the new cases are from close contact, and three cases have, at this time no known exposure.

The case numbers are dropping, which is perhaps a demonstration that the lockdown measures are helping flatten the curve.

While Thunder Bay District numbers are showing a positive trend, the rest cannot be said for Southern Ontario.

Ontario reported 3,363 new COVID-19 cases today. This is a new record high in the number of daily cases, with 2,476 reported on January 1, 2021.

COVID-19 numbers were not released yesterday due to the statutory holiday.

The bulk of the new COVID-19 cases reported on January 2, 2020 were in order, 713 cases in the Peel Region, 700 cases reported in Toronto, and 395 cases in the York Region.
