Weather Advisory – Snow will make Travel a Challenge along North Shore of Lake Superior

NIPIGON – WEATHER – Headed north of Lake Superior? There is a weather advisory in effect as Environment Canada is calling for lake effect snow off of Lake Superior that will begin this evening.

Snowfall rates may reach 1 to 3 centimeters per hour at times overnight through to Wednesday afternoon. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 centimeters are forecast by Wednesday evening.

The heaviest snow will occur between Wawa and Nipigon, so expect poor travel conditions along this stretch of Highway 17.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Marathon – Schreiber
  • Nipigon – Rossport
  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park
  • White River – Dubreuilville
